ABOUT THE PROJECT

One of the most exciting motorsports is IndyCar racing, and as long as there has been IndyCar races there have been Firestone tires connected to them. Firestone broke into racing in 1911 and after a two decade hiatus they returned in 1995 as the official tire of the IndyCar Series. Despite this commitment to racing, Firestone Racing had not invested much into their digital presence. What they had didn't capture the spirit of the brand nor was it functional. We wanted to bring Firestone and its fans a site worthy of their passion and something that would inspire existing fans to share their passion and bring their friends into the sport.

 
 
 

A BOLD NEW LOOK

Inspired by racing games and modern grids we wanted the site to feel like dashboard of all things racing. The interface also included a countdown to the next race while in season and it doubled as a capture field to keep you up to date and acquire new user data.

 
 
 

SOMETHING FOR THE NEWCOMERS

Now that we had taken care of the fans, we wanted to give them somethign they could use to easily tell others why they love the sport and what made it so exciting, so we made a section dedicated to the new and curious. While not executed to the full vision below, we still got the basic concept developed.
