ABOUT THE PROJECT
In partnership with Behr Paint, the Atlanta Aquarium (largest aquarium in the Western Hemisphere) set out to update one of their installations with a more cutting edge, educational experience that would appeal to kids and adults and generate buzz, ultimately driving increased visits. We designed three game-like experiences that could support all of our objectives.
The Concepts
Our amazing team designed three unique concepts to be presented to the ATL Aquarium. Each concept catered to a different audience with different experiences and takeaways. All concepts were designed to use dual 10-foot touch screens, an additional center console connected to live data and with social features and even 3D printing.
BLIP'S Voyage
A story-based, easy-to-play game
Meet Blip, a translucent deep-water creature who has never known a life full of color. He always looks longingly at the schools of fish swimming in the waters far above him. Will you help guide Blip up the ocean layers and reach his dream of becoming a bright, colorful fish?
Colors of the Deep
A creative, educational experience
Flex your creative muscle and create a radiantly-colored fish with Behr colors, the likes of which the ocean has never seen. When your fish is perfect, release it into the ocean and explore the surface to the depths with touch controls, learning all about light and the colors of the sea along the way. When you’re done, take it with you to remember the journey.
Submarine Commander
An interactive expedition
Greetings Commander! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to locate specific sea creatures and explore how light affects the colors of the ocean. Commander, this knowledge will prepare you for what you are about to see in the Ocean Voyager exhibit. Godspeed!
